A one-day writing studio for educators inside and outside of schools, working with school and civic documents. Drawing on practices developed by artist Titus Kaphar and poet Reginald Dwayne Betts, redaction is used as a method for reading closely, revealing how language carries values, assumptions, and power. Participants will work with existing policies, executive orders, textbooks, and laws to cut, rearrange, and reposition language.
